Bimlendra Jha (born September 8, 1967) is a highly accomplished corporate leader, turnaround specialist, and entrepreneur. With nearly three decades of experience in leadership roles, primarily within the Tata Group, Jha has earned a reputation as a visionary executive with expertise in business transformation, strategy formulation, and operational excellence. His career spans key industries such as steel, cement, and infrastructure, where he has made significant contributions to organizational growth, profitability, and sustainability.[1]

Career:

Tata Steel

Bimlendra Jha began his career with Tata Steel Limited as a Graduate Trainee in 1990. He held various key roles including Chief of ASPIRE, Executive in Charge Tata Growth Shop, and Principal Executive Officer to the MD of Tata Steel. His early work involved key strategic roles and contributed significantly to the company's growth.[2]

Tata Steel Europe

In 2013, Jha moved to Europe and was appointed to the Executive Committee of Tata Steel Europe (TSE). He played a pivotal role in portfolio restructuring and turnaround strategies. Notably, he led the successful turnaround and sale of British Steel (formerly Long Products Europe) to Greybull Capital, saving an estimated 5,000 jobs. As CEO of Tata Steel UK starting in April 2016, Jha spearheaded a major restructuring program, saving over 8,000 jobs and successfully negotiating with unions to de-risk the business.

Ambuja Cements

Jha returned to India in February 2019 as MD & CEO of Ambuja Cements Ltd. During his tenure, he achieved the second-highest EBITDA in a decade, launched six new products, and introduced a new project management technique that significantly improved operational efficiency. He also implemented successful influence management and sales force incentive schemes.[3]

Entrepreneurial Ventures

In March 2020, Bimlendra Jha co- founded IgnitingMinds Guru Pvt. Ltd. and Mechi Enterprise. He further expanded his entrepreneurial ventures in March 2021 by co-founding and investing in THIKEDAAR DOT COM PVT. LTD., a construction technology startup.
