Arun Kumar Singh ji has an important demand from the government for the Baruraj assembly in the assembly session.

  • When he got the opportunity, Arun Singh demanded from the government the reinstatement of Sirsia OP in Rampur Bheriyahi Panchayat of Motipur block under his Baruraj assembly constituency.[1]
  • Demanded construction of a bridge on Budhi Gandak river in Mathia Bariyarpur of Motipur block of Baruraj assembly constituency in Bihar Assembly.[2]
  • In Bihar Assembly, demanded the government to immediately construct the road going from Kalyani Bridge to Haldi Bazaar in Motipur Saraiya Road of Baruraj Assembly Constituency.[3]
  • In the twelfth session of Bihar Legislative Assembly, the Mansarovar pond situated in Ward 13 of Motipur Municipal Council under Baruraj Assembly constituency, which is the heart of Motipur, demanded the government to free the pond from encroachment and beautify it.[4]
  • In the session of Bihar Assembly, the government demanded the construction of a stadium near Sarju Upadhyay High School of Brahmapur Karman Panchayat under Baruraj Assembly constituency.[5]
  • In the session of Bihar Legislative Assembly, demands were made from the government to cordon off all the cremation grounds of all the villages, Nagar Panchayat and Municipal Council under Baruraj Assembly constituency, fill the soil, arrange seating for the villagers and provide water supply.[6]
  • In the Bihar Legislative Assembly session, it was highlighted that in the Baruraj Assembly constituency under Muzaffarpur district, there is only one college with approximately 6,000 students. However, due to the lack of an academic building, there are significant difficulties in teaching and learning activities. Therefore, in the interest of the students, a demand was made to the government for the construction of an academic building at Jeevak College, Motipur.[7]
  • In the 14th session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, it was highlighted that in the Baruraj Assembly constituency under Muzaffarpur district, the condition of old buildings in Motipur, Hardi, Kathaiya, Kunwahi, Sirsia, Nariyar, and Birhima high schools has become extremely dilapidated, causing significant difficulties in teaching and learning activities. Therefore, a demand was made to the government for the construction of new buildings and boundary walls for all these schools.[8]

Political career

Dr. Arun Kumar Singh began his political journey in grassroots governance. From 2002 to 2007, he served as a Ward Parishad (Ward Member) in the Muzaffarpur municipal structure. During his tenure, he focused on development activities such as road repairs, sanitation, public health awareness, and education for underprivileged communities.

2015 Assembly Elections

In 2015, Dr. Singh contested the Bihar Legislative Assembly elections from the Baruraj Assembly constituency as a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Despite a spirited campaign, he was narrowly defeated by Nand Kumar Rai of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) by a margin of 4,909 votes. This close contest reflected Dr. Singh’s growing popularity and support among voters.[9][10]

2020 Assembly Elections

In the 2020 Assembly elections, Dr. Singh once again contested from Baruraj and this time emerged victorious.[11] He defeated the incumbent Nand Kumar Rai by a decisive margin of 43,654 votes. He received a total of 87,407 votes, which amounted to 51% of the total votes polled. His victory was considered a significant political turnaround in the region.[12]
