Mayuri Chordia, also known as Mayurika Chourdia (born 4 June 1982), is a British Indian chartered accountant, bestselling author, politician, and social activist. She is the founder and managing director of financial services consultancy firm Sunrise Financial Ltd. With over two decades of experience in the banking and financial services (BFSI) sector, Chordia has worked across international markets and is affiliated with several professional, social, charitable, and political organisations worldwide. She has received international recognition for her contributions to finance, the literature community, and public service.

A member of the Conservative Party, she serves as a Member of the Executive Council and Deputy Chairman for Harrow Branches of the Harrow West Conservative Association. She has been actively involved in political and community work across North West London, including Greenhill, Harrow on the Hill, Headstone, and West Harrow.

Chordia has been associated with the Conservative Party for over a decade and has participated extensively in election campaigning, including campaigns supporting Rishi Sunak, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom since 2022. She is also a member of the Conservative Women's Organisation and Conservative Friends of India, and was nominated in 2025 by the Harrow West Conservative Association to contest the Wealdstone North Ward in the local elections scheduled for May 2026.

Early life and education

Chordia was born in the mid-sized town of Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, into a family belonging to the Jain community. She traces her ancestral heritage to royal lineages of Rajasthan, including historical associations with Sawai Madho Singh and Ratan Singh Rathore.

At the age of 17, she left her hometown to pursue a career in commerce, relocating first to Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and later to Mumbai, the financial capital of India. In 1999, she enrolled with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India to pursue the Chartered Accountant qualification. She subsequently completed her Bachelor of Commerce degree from Vikram University, securing 93% marks in Accounting. She also achieved 97% marks in Economics in the Central Board of Secondary Education higher secondary examination.

Chordia remained a scholar and rank holder throughout her academic career and later received multiple awards and recognitions for her professional achievements.

Career

Mayuri Chordia is a risk professional and transformational leader with over two decades of experience in the banking and financial services sector across global markets. She is the founder of a global financial consultancy firm and serves as its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. In this role, she has partnered with leading investment banks and consultancy firms internationally.

She began her career as a risk analyst in the capital markets sector between 2001 and 2005, working with trading terminals of the National Stock Exchange and the Bombay Stock Exchange. She was involved in intraday trading and terminal management activities. She later served as a risk advisor to several global banks and financial institutions and held senior executive positions within the banking and financial services industry. She has also been nominated to audit committees, risk committees, and boards of corporate and multinational companies globally.

As an investment banker and auditor, Chordia has worked with organisations including Deutsche Bank, Barclays Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland, GlaxoSmithKline, and ICICI Bank, along with other multinational corporate entities. Her professional portfolio includes engagements with FTSE 250 companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, public sector bodies, and professional services organisations.

Within the financial services sector, she has worked with retail and investment banks, hedge funds, asset managers, insurance companies, mutual funds, and capital market institutions. As a subject-matter expert, she has contributed to regulatory engagements involving the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority, as well as global regulators including the Federal Reserve System, European Central Bank, European Banking Authority, and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.

She served as a committee member of the Corporate Social Responsibility committee of Chaucer Group (a China Re company) in 2024. She was a panel member of the Independent Financial Consultants Forum of Grant Thornton (2022–2023). She has also been part of the Financial & Tax Literacy Directorate forum of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the World Forum of Accountants summit 2025.

Chordia contested and won the election to the Executive Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India United Kingdom, London Chapter, and was elected Secretary for the 2025–2029 term. In her capacity as managing director of Sunrise Financial Ltd, she provides auditing, accounting, assurance, and advisory services to FTSE 250 companies, SMEs, public sector bodies, and professional services organisations.

Political and public involvement

Chordia has been active in politics since her academic years, during which she held leadership roles including serving as president during her school and college education. In the United Kingdom, she is a member of the Conservative Party and serves as Deputy Chairperson and a Member of the Executive Council of the Harrow West Association. She has participated in multiple election campaigns since 2019, including the London mayoral elections & General Elections held in 2024.

She is also affiliated with the Conservative Women’s Organisation and Conservative Friends of India, where her activities have included community engagement, policy advocacy, and outreach initiatives across North West London.

In India, she has been associated with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) since 2001. She has contributed significantly to the election campaigning and organisational activities. Her involvement has included participation in campaign coordination, slogan writing, and speech drafting during various election periods, including those led by the governments of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Third Vajpayee Ministry (1999-2004) and Narendra Modi government (2014-2025). She has also been involved in initiatives promoting Indian culture, Indian Heritage, tourism, and Hindi language at various international forums. She is associated with the Indian Embassy (high commission of india in the UK), overseas friends of BJP in the UK (OFBJP) and provides support in various cultural, political, economical & trading activities.

She has been associated with various trading & business forums at global level including UK-India Business council (UKIBC), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to promote trading and business activities between two countries and to increase the foreign investments in India. She has been debater and negotiator for India UK free trade agreement and discussed FTAs at various international forums including world economic forum. She has raised tariffs and non tariffs issues including investor protections,  governance, intellectual property rights, harmonization of standards, transfer pricing and other ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) areas.

On the State Foundation Day, November 1st (Madhya Pradesh Day), She has raised a slogan (“I am India, I am Madhya Pradesh”)  in the Indian Embassy (high commission of India in the UK) and defined Indian Flag (Tri Colour - Tiranga) with the characteristics of India which was recognised at a global level. Later, she was featured in the magazine published by Indian Embassy (High Commission of India UK) in March 2024. She has contributed significantly to promote a book MODIALOGUE which was authored by Dr. Ashwin Fernandes and promoted by Union Cabinet Minister Smriti Zubin Irani at various platforms in 2024. This incredible book eloquently captures the essence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi transformative leadership & his management skills.

She has been closely working with the various state governments to promote, Non resident Indians (NRIs) and Foreign Investments in India. Her focus is to increase the foreign investments in renewable energy, automobile, agribusiness, IT, tourism, education and infrastructure. She participated in NRI Investement Summit 2023 which was organized by Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan  and then Global Investors Summit, 2025, organized by current Chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Mohan yadav. She is continuously contributing to develop the states in various ways. As a policy maker, she advised the round table conversation to MP Government and Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC), to develop an infrastructure for charging points for Electrical Vehicles and to establish Net Zero economy, the policy of green credit needs to be strengthened. Further during the meeting with the governor of Madhya Pradesh Mangu Bhai patel, she supported the initiative, to establish a direct air connectivity between Madhya Pradesh and the United Kindgdom.

She participated and promoted 'Rising Rajasthan Investors Meet London' 2024 organized by Government of Rajasthan in the presence of Chief Minister of Rajasthan Bhajan Lal Sharma and Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari. She explored Rajasthan's vibrant business landscape, strategic advantages, and diverse investment sectors with Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO). Subsequently; she has been part of Pravasi Rajasthan Divas PRD 2025 where she has discussed the various investments proposals with the Rajasthan government and its industrial division (RIICO). She advised to develop the MSME sector in the Rajasthan considering the resources available in various villages. She added in a round table conversation that Rajasthan has a incredible heritage and historical monument that can increase the GDP by promoting the tourism in the state. She emphasised to provide various subsidies to the women entrepreneurs to encourage women in to businesses. She has taken number of initiatives at a global level for women empowerment.

She had a discussion with Chief Minister of Telangana RevanthReddy on potential opportunities for trade and investments partnerships between UK and Telangana. Telangana was formed in 2014, is one of the fastest growing states in India. It has established itself as one of the preferred destinations for marquee investors in various sectors such as IT, Lifescience, electronics, aerospace, defense, automotive, textiles, retail and logistics. As a policy maker, she advised to explore the sector of biotechnology and handicrafts which was well acknowledged by the CM of Telangana. He said that he will include these sectors too as he has a long term plan and vision for 2050.

Chordia has introduced and developed, a 3I models for the state governments to grow the state which stand for Investments, Innovation & Infrastructure. Her multiple round tables productive discussions with various state governments  highlighted investor-friendly policies, robust infrastructure, roadmap for sustainable growth and  further strengthening global partnerships for transformative investments.

Literary work

Chordia began writing at an early age and has been engaged in literary pursuits since her teenage years. In 2021, she published her debut poetry collection titled E-Zindagi, which contributed to her recognition as a bestselling author. She has penned down very passionately her thoughts to get connected with the mind & heart of every human being globally. The objective of this poetry book was to get connected with everyone in the world & to express the true feelings of the readers.

Drawing on her professional background and international experience; her writing reflects themes of personal growth, motivation, and life experiences.

She has stated in various media interviews that her future literary works are expected to include motivational literature, fiction, non-fiction, and biographical writing. She was a member of all India authors group and she has been associated with Bharitya Sahitya Academy, India. In her young age, she has performed at various cultural forums.

She is also the author of an upcoming motivational book titled Life Is a Game and a thriller book A Silent Murder which have been scheduled for publication in upcoming years.

Personal life

Chordia has been active in politics since her college years and was involved in writing speeches and articles for political organisations during the early stages of her career. Alongside her political activities, she has been associated with various religious, social, and charitable organisations and non-governmental organisations at a global level. Her community work has included collaboration and voluntary engagement with organisations such as the British Heart Foundation, Rotary International, and other social and charitable institutions across diverse areas of public service.

Beyond her professional and public engagements, Chordia has a range of personal interests, including singing, dancing, acting, and modelling. In media interviews, she has stated that she aspired to join the Indian Police Service in her youth, inspired by Kiran Bedi. She has also trained in karate up to the level of a yellow belt. During her early career, she pursued modelling and acting alongside her higher education and was associated with film projects, although she ultimately chose to focus on qualifying as a Chartered Accountant.

Chordia has also expressed an interest in spirituality from a young age and, during her teenage years, explored the path of becoming a Jain monk. As part of her spiritual journey, she studied Jainism, the Vedas, and practices such as Reiki, aura reading, energy healing, and meditation. She has described her personal philosophy as being guided by the principle of “live and let live.”

Social and charitable activities

Chordia is associated with multiple charitable and non-profit organisations globally, including the British Heart Foundation, Rotary International, and various interfaith and community groups. She has been involved in organising cultural, educational, and charitable including fund raising activities in the United Kingdom with various global organizations. She is a member of the Harrow Interfaith Forum and supports initiatives promoting peace, inclusivity, and non-violence. She is also a certified first aider (2024-2027) with St John Ambulance, London UK.

Her ideology is, non violence is the greatest religion and tehre is no higher religion than human service. If it is difficult to feed hundreds or thousands of people, then feed just one. She has made notable contributions to various social platforms for helping people and social welfare activities. She has a deep knowledge about Svādhyāya which is being called Self Study. Self knowledge is all about process of exploring 'SWAN' or strengths, weaknesses, ambitions, needs. She has spent a significant amount of time with Jain Monks (gurus) when she was a teenager & that’s all learning has left remarks of Jainism in her day to day life.

She was a member of event committee and community of Folk Group, London UK. She was involved in organising various social & charitable activities for the residents. She has promoted the culture of coliving and coworking at a global level. She has worked with more than 100 nationalities under one roof and organized more than 500 social events and charitable activities in her tenure (2022-2025). She has promoted healthy wellbeing of residents, gender equality, diversity, LGBT rights, maternity pay, women empowerment; women led leadership across various international forums.

She was nominated as a member of event committee of Marathon Group UK (2024) by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), to provide support to organize Marathon activities. Chordia contributed significantly in the fund raising activities with the leading charitable organisation. It included managing 50000 Global Runners.

Chordia is a Founder and Chairperson of Jain Chartered Accountant Federation (JCAF) UK. She is a patron member and associated with JITO since its inception 2007. Chordia served as a board member of Jain International Trade Organization, JITO UK (2023-2024). She invented and promoted to create a global directory to exchange the potential opportunities of trading and business activities across international boundaries. She participated & promoted the “Ahimsa Run” drive (Run for PEACE, UNITY & NON-VIOLENCE) at a global level which has set a GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORD on 2nd April 2023.

Awards and honours

Chordia has received multiple awards and recognitions at a global level for her contributions to the social, religious, economic, cultural, and business fields. In 2023, she was conferred the Young Achievers Award at the House of Commons, British Parliament, London. The award was presented by Sarah Owen (Shadow Minister for Local Government and Faith), in the presence of Bob Blackman (Member of Parliament) and Gareth Thomas (Minister for Trade Policy), among other dignitaries.

She was shortlisted and nominated by the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) for the Woman Star of the Year Award in 2024. SAFA is a regional forum of professional accounting bodies within the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), representing eight member nations.

In March 2024, Chordia was recognised by the Government of India and featured as an author in a publication issued by the High Commission of India, London. She has also been recognised by global banks and multinational organisations, including Barclays and the Royal Bank of Scotland, for her role in implementing risk transformation initiatives. Her recognitions span categories such as focused leadership initiatives, excellence in accounting and economics, and academic achievements, including awards received during her college years.
