Dr. Archana Patel was born on 28 April 1976 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. She developed an interest in the arts and animal welfare at a young age. She completed her schooling at Little Flower School, and went on to earn a B.A. in Indian Culture from Gujarat University in 1996. She also pursued a Diploma in Nursing from Ahmedabad Para Medical College, followed by veterinary-related short-term certifications from international platforms such as VETMEDUX and Clinician’s Brief.
Career
Theatre, acting and writing
Patel began her career in the cultural arts as a stage actor and model. Over the years, she has performed in numerous Gujarati theatre productions and television shows. As a writer, she has contributed columns to local publications and authored several short stories and essays in Gujarati, focusing on themes of compassion, culture, and empowerment.
Animal rescue and Dhunn – The Petting Farm
Inspired by her love for animals, Dr. Archana established Dhunn – The Petting Farm in Dharmaj. The farm serves as a rehabilitation and shelter center for abandoned, injured, or mistreated animals. Over the years, she has rescued hundreds of reptiles, birds, stray dogs, and other animals, often collaborating with local veterinary and environmental agencies.
