Ishan Talathi (born 10 August 1988) is an Indian entrepreneur, technologist, and cloud infrastructure pioneer. He is best known as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Leapswitch Networks, an international cloud and managed hosting company, and the creator of CloudPe, an enterprise cloud infrastructure platform offering virtual machines, Kubernetes clusters, GPU cloud infrastructure, and storage solutions.

Talathi is regarded as one of the early Indian entrepreneurs focused on making enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure affordable and accessible to startups, developers, and businesses. Beginning his entrepreneurial journey during his first year of engineering college in 2006, he transformed a small freelance-funded hosting venture into a global cloud infrastructure business operating across multiple countries.

Early life and education

Ishan Talathi was born in Pune, Maharashtra, India, into a conventional Indian family where stable employment and professional careers were traditionally prioritised. Despite these expectations, Talathi pursued entrepreneurship at an early age.

He completed his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) from Sinhgad Institute of Technology in Pune. During his first year of engineering studies, he founded his first hosting venture while simultaneously pursuing academics.

Talathi later earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from ESADE Business School in Barcelona, Spain. His international academic exposure contributed to the strategic expansion of his business operations into Europe and other global markets.

Career

Founding of Leapswitch Networks

In 2006, Talathi founded LaceHost, an early web hosting venture established in the United States. The business initially operated as a solo project funded through Talathi’s earnings from freelance web design and digital marketing assignments.

In 2009, LaceHost integrated with We3Care Services and was rebranded as Leapswitch Networks. Following the rebranding, the company expanded aggressively across the United States, launching infrastructure operations in cities including Asheville, Dallas, South Bend, Michigan, Chicago, Jacksonville, Charlotte, and Los Angeles between 2010 and 2013.

In 2014, Leapswitch expanded into Europe with infrastructure deployments in Spain and Ukraine. The company also launched its first Indian location in Mumbai, marking its strategic entry into the Indian cloud infrastructure market.

Global expansion and acquisitions

Under Talathi’s leadership, Leapswitch Networks pursued both organic growth and strategic acquisitions to expand its international footprint.

The company acquired XOZZ Ltd in 2017, strengthening its overseas customer base and infrastructure capabilities. In 2023, Leapswitch acquired Stromonic Ltd, adding more than 14,000 customers to the CloudJiffy platform. In April 2024, Strad Solutions Ltd merged with Leapswitch Networks, contributing enterprise infrastructure capabilities that later supported the launch of CloudPe.

As of 2026, Leapswitch Networks operates from 19 locations across 10 countries and serves over 20,000 customers from more than 110 countries. The company maintains offices in Pune, Mumbai, Nashik, and Bangalore.

Launch of CloudJiffy

In 2018, Talathi launched CloudJiffy, a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution focused on scalable managed application hosting for developers and businesses.

The platform reportedly onboarded over 400 customers within the first five months of launch and later expanded into European and North American markets in 2019.

Launch of CloudPe

On 18 November 2024, Talathi launched CloudPe, an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platform aimed at providing enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure for startups, SMEs, and large organisations.

CloudPe offers services including:

  • Virtual machines
  • Managed Kubernetes clusters
  • H200 GPU cloud infrastructure
  • S3-compatible object storage
  • Block storage
  • Load balancers
  • Virtual firewalls
  • Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) solutions

CloudPe was established following the integration of Strad Solutions with Leapswitch Networks and positioned itself as an Indian alternative to global cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

Within its first year, the platform secured enterprise clients including Tech Mahindra, HDFC, Zoho, and Booking.com. In November 2025, CloudPe achieved SOC 2 Type II Certification, strengthening its enterprise compliance and security credentials.

In December 2025, CloudPe launched H200 GPU cloud infrastructure through ANI, becoming one of the first Indian cloud providers to offer this class of compute infrastructure for artificial intelligence and machine learning workloads.

In February 2026, Leapswitch Networks received the CIO CHOICE 2026 Award in the Cloud Service Vendor – Public Cloud category.

Mumbai office expansion

In May 2025, Talathi expanded Leapswitch Networks’ operations in India by establishing a new branch office at Wadala Udyog Bhawan in Mumbai, supporting the scaling operations of CloudPe’s enterprise division.

Government recognition

Leapswitch Networks received recognition from the Government of India through the IndiaSME Top 100 Awards in both 2017 and 2018 under the Ministry of MSME for contributions to India’s digital and cloud infrastructure ecosystem.
