Mayuri Chordia
Mayuri Chordia, formally known as Mayurika Chourdia (born 4 June 1982), is a British Indian Chartered Accountant, bestselling author, politician, and social activist. She is the founder and managing director of the global financial consultancy firm Sunrise Financial Ltd. Chordia has over two decades of extensive experience in the banking and financial services sector across the globe. She is affiliated with several professional, social, and political organisations and has been recognised internationally for her contributions to finance, literature, and community service. She serves as a Member of the Executive Council and Deputy Chairperson (Branches) of the Conservative Party’s Harrow West Association and has worked extensively across North West London, including Greenhill, Harrow on the Hill, Headstone, and West Harrow. She is also a member of the Conservative Women's Organisation and Conservative Friends of India and has been actively involved in election campaigning since 2019, including the London Mayoral Elections held in May 2024. In 2024, she was nominated to contest the United Kingdom local elections from the Wealdstone North Ward scheduled for May 2026.

Early life and education
Mayuri was born in the mid-sized town of Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, into a family belonging to the Jain community. She traces her ancestral heritage to royal lineages of Rajasthan, including historical associations with King Sawai Madho Singh and King Ratan Singh Rathore. At the age of 17, she left her hometown to pursue a career in the field of commerce, relocating first to Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and later to Mumbai, the financial capital of India. In 1999, she enrolled with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India to pursue the Chartered Accountant qualification. She subsequently completed her Bachelor of Commerce degree from Vikram University, securing 93% marks in Accounting. She also achieved 97% marks in Economics in the Central Board of Secondary Education higher secondary examination. She remained a scholar and rank holder throughout her academic career and later received multiple awards and recognitions for her professional endeavours and achievements.

Mayuri Chordia is a risk professional and transformational leader with over two decades of experience in the banking and financial services sector across global markets. She is the founder of a global financial consultancy firm and serves as its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. In this role, she has partnered with leading investment banks and consultancy firms internationally. She began her career as a risk analyst in the capital markets sector between 2001 and 2005, where she worked with trading terminals of the National Stock Exchange and the Bombay Stock Exchange. She later served as a risk advisor to several global banks and financial institutions and held multiple senior executive positions within the banking and financial services industry over the subsequent two decades.
As an investment banker and auditor, Chordia has worked with organisations including Deutsche Bank, Barclays, Royal Bank of Scotland, GlaxoSmithKline, and ICICI Bank, along with other multinational corporate entities. Her professional portfolio also includes engagements with FTSE 250 companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, public sector bodies, and professional services organisations. Within the financial services sector, she has worked with retail and investment banks, hedge funds, asset managers, insurance companies, mutual funds, and capital market institutions. As a subject-matter expert, she has contributed to regulatory engagements involving the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority, as well as other global regulators.
In her capacity as managing director of Sunrise Financial Ltd, Chordia provides auditing, accounting, assurance, and advisory services to FTSE 250 companies, SMEs, public sector bodies, and professional services organisations.

Chordia has been active in politics since her academic years, during which she held leadership roles including serving as president during her school and college education. In the United Kingdom, she is a member of the Conservative Party and serves as Deputy Chairperson and a Member of the Executive Council of the Harrow West Association. She has participated in multiple election campaigns since 2019, including the London mayoral elections held in 2024.
She is also affiliated with the Conservative Women’s Organisation and Conservative Friends of India, where her activities have included community engagement, policy advocacy, and outreach initiatives across North West London.
In India, Chordia has been associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party since 2001 and has contributed to election campaigning and organisational activities. Beyond her professional and public engagements, Chordia has a range of personal interests, including singing, dancing, acting, and modelling. In media interviews, she has stated that she aspired to join the Indian Police Service in her youth, inspired by Kiran Bedi. She has also trained in karate up to the level of a yellow belt. During her early career, she pursued modelling and acting alongside her higher education and was associated with film projects, although she ultimately chose to focus on qualifying as a Chartered Accountant.
Chordia has also expressed an interest in spirituality from a young age and, during her teenage years, explored the path of becoming a Jain monk.
