Early life and education
Prof. Dr. Anshuman Naik was born in Rourkela, Odisha. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and later obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD). He also pursued postgraduate training in medicine from the Christian Medical College, Vellore.
He has undertaken additional certifications and training in clinical endocrinology, diabetes care, thyroid disorders, obesity management, counselling, sexual medicine, bioethics, yoga orientation, and hospital administration.
Career
On 9 August 2012, Prof. Dr. Anshuman Naik founded the Sweet Life Diabetic’s Care & Research Center in Rourkela as a specialty clinic focused on diabetes and metabolic disorders. The centre provides services related to diabetes, thyroid disease, obesity, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), post-menopausal conditions, and other endocrine disorders.
He has promoted telemedicine-supported diabetes care, utilising digital communication tools to monitor and guide patients remotely. His approach emphasises lifestyle modification, dietary management, structured physical activity, yoga practices, patient counselling, and cost-effective medication strategies.
