Able C. Alex was born in Chelad, Kothamangalam, in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, India. He belongs to the Jacobite Syrian Christian community.
His father, C. K. Alexander, was a teacher who received State and National Teachers Awards and was also known for achieving a world record and playing the Bulbul Tarang musical instrument.
He completed a Master's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. In addition, he studied Library Science and Sociology, contributing to his understanding of media, society, and information systems.
