Ayurvedacharya Prakash Tata (born 1 January 1940), also known as Dr. Prakash Tata Guru Ji, is an Indian Ayurvedic practitioner, yoga teacher, and spiritual leader based in Chhindwara district, Madhya Pradesh, India.

Early life

Prakash Tata was born in 1940 in Madhya Pradesh, India. His parents worked as forest labourers.

During his childhood, he reportedly experienced spiritual visions and unusual experiences that prompted his family to seek guidance from the local spiritual teacher Sri Sri 108 Amrit Prasad Tiwari. Tiwari later became his spiritual mentor and guide.

Career

Prakash Tata began practising Ayurveda and yoga in the early 1960s. He established his first treatment and meditation centre in Sukri village in Junnardev of Chhindwara district, Madhya Pradesh.

His treatment philosophy combines traditional Ayurvedic medicine with yoga, meditation, and herbal remedies derived from plants found in the Patalkot Valley region.

Over the decades, he has treated patients from India and abroad using traditional herbal therapies. Media reports have stated that he has travelled to multiple countries to promote Ayurveda and provide treatment.

He also gained public attention after offering Ayurvedic treatment to Sri Lankan cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya for a knee injury.

Prakash Tata has occasionally been featured in media discussions related to spiritual claims and religious debates. In 2023 he publicly challenged spiritual leader Dhirendra Krishna Shastri regarding claims of supernatural abilities.
