Born in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India, Guru ji Dr. Raj MahaRaj was raised in the slums of Govind Puri, Delhi. His mother, Bimla Saini, worked tirelessly to provide basic sustenance for the family. From these humble beginnings, young Surinder Singh Saini nurtured a dream of rising above his circumstances.
He attended Frank Anthony Public School in Delhi and completed his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Deshbandhu College. Due to financial constraints, he could not pursue higher studies immediately after graduation. However, his resolve remained unshaken.

In 1994, he launched a small event management business in Delhi while simultaneously diving deep into the study of Vedic astrology and Vastu Shastra.
