Early life and education
Basharat was born in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, into a family devoted to education—both of his parents being teachers. He is the youngest of three siblings; his elder sisters went on to careers in medicine and scientific research.
From an early age, he displayed a flair for innovation. One of his projects—a device that generated electricity from weeds—earned him a place in the National Register of Grassroot Innovations under the National Innovation Foundation, giving him the opportunity to meet former President and scientist Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam.
He completed his schooling at IMI in Anantnag, earned a B.Sc. in Biotechnology from Bangalore University through Brindavan College, and later obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from the Kirloskar Institute of Management. While at Kirloskar, he founded the institute’s first Brand Club, earning the nickname “Brand Man” among his peers.
Career
In 2011, Basharat launched Enthusionz as a fully bootstrapped marketing and brand communications agency with a vision to create lasting value through a brand-first approach. His philosophy centres on building authentic, sustainable brands through strategy, creativity, and ethical business practices.
Under his leadership, Enthusionz has supported more than 350 clients across sectors such as healthcare, education, fintech, consumer goods, real estate, and social impact. The company’s hybrid model blends traditional marketing insights with contemporary digital tools. Clients have included Idea, Herbalife, LenDenClub, Columbia Asia, Kirloskar, Quest Global, Pinkathon, and Peps. The agency is noted for maintaining an average client relationship of 4–5 years, a rarity in the digital services sector.
Basharat’s most enduring association has been with Pinkathon, where he has overseen brand positioning and digital engagement strategies since the initiative’s inception—helping it grow into a nationwide movement promoting women’s fitness and empowerment.
He has consistently avoided working with industries such as alcohol and tobacco, staying true to his principles. Additionally, he has been an early adopter of artificial intelligence in marketing processes, while emphasising the irreplaceable role of human insight and creativity.

A regular presence at branding and entrepreneurship events, Basharat delivers talks at industry conferences, academic institutions, and leadership forums. In one convocation address, he introduced his personal leadership model: The 3 P’s of Life – Purpose, Passion, and Persistence.
