Rananavare began practising orthopaedic surgery in 1998, specialising in complex trauma, joint reconstruction, and hip & knee arthroplasty. He trained under eminent surgeon K. H. Sancheti in Pune and completed three international fellowships in South Korea, Australia, and Germany.

To date, he has conducted over 8,500 surgeries, including around 3,000 hip and knee replacements.
