Early life and education
Pradhan was born on August 23 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, into a middle-class family. She completed schooling at Convent of Jesus and Mary in Dehradun. Although she cleared the IIT BArch entrance test, she chose to pursue music professionally, following her passion.
Training and Musical Foundation
Pradhan began learning music at three and a half, trained first by her mother. She later received formal instruction in Indian classical music from Jindey Guruji and Sir Suchit Narang. She staged her first performance at the age of four and won her first award for singing at five, laying the foundation for a career in composition and performance.
Career
Sonal Pradhan gained prominence in 2018 as the composer and voice behind the music of the web series Maaya 2 and Zakhmi, directed by filmmaker Vikram Bhatt. Her song Apne Hi became a breakout success, drawing industry attention. She has since collaborated with noted singers and performers including Neha Kakkar, Sunidhi Chauhan, Asees Kaur, Ankit Tiwari, Amit Mishra, Yasser Desai and Sunny Leone.
