Elevent Index
Elevent Index is a structured framework created to assess startup investment quality, funding preparedness, and capital readiness. The framework is based on the principle that startup evaluation should consider both internal business quality and the practical readiness of a business to raise and effectively utilize external capital.
Investment Quality Score
The Investment Quality Score (IQS) evaluates startups through eleven distinct parameters. Each parameter is scored from 0 to 10, and the final score is calculated through stage-based weighted allocation.
IQS = Σ (Ei × Wi)
Where Ei represents the assigned score for each Elevent parameter and Wi represents the stage-based weightage. Since total weightage equals 100%, IQS remains on a scale of 0–10.
| Code | Dimension | Description |
|---|---|---|
| E1 | Founder and Leadership Strength | Founder capability, execution ability, adaptability, ethics, leadership depth, and vision. |
| E2 | Market Opportunity Assessment | Market size, timing, accessibility, demand validation, and future potential. |
| E3 | Product and Innovation Strength | Innovation quality, product relevance, differentiation, scalability, and defensibility. |
| E4 | Business Model Viability | Revenue model, pricing structure, profitability, unit economics, and scalability. |
| E5 | Financial Strength | Financial controls, reporting quality, runway, capital efficiency, and discipline. |
| E6 | Competitive Positioning | Market positioning, defensibility, differentiation, customer loyalty, and competitive advantage. |
| E7 | Customer and Growth Indicators | Customer retention, acquisition quality, traction, growth metrics, and expansion potential. |
| E8 | Governance and Compliance | Compliance discipline, transparency, governance standards, documentation, and legal structure. |
| E9 | Operational Readiness | Systems, scalability, processes, talent structure, and operational efficiency. |
| E10 | Investment and Exit Potential | Investor attractiveness, valuation logic, return potential, and exit pathways. |
| E11 | Future Sustainability Index | ESG readiness, resilience, long-term adaptability, and technological relevance. |

Funding Readiness Score
The Funding Readiness Score (FRS) determines whether a startup is prepared for raising capital. It evaluates five major dimensions, each scored between 0 and 10. Final scoring is calculated using stage-based weightage allocation.
| FRS = Σ (Fi × Wi)
Where Fi represents funding readiness dimension scores and Wi represents corresponding stage-based weightages. Final score remains on a scale of 10. |

Capital Readiness Score
The Capital Readiness Score (CRS) integrates both Investment Quality Score (IQS) and Funding Readiness Score (FRS) into a unified capital readiness metric. Both scores are measured on a 10-point scale, while CRS uses a weighted 70:30 methodology that prioritizes business quality while incorporating funding preparedness.
| CRS = 7 × IQS + 3 × FRS
Since both IQS and FRS are calculated out of 10, CRS automatically produces a score on a scale of 0 to 100 without additional normalization. Example: If IQS = 8.0 and FRS = 7.0, CRS = (7 × 8.0) + (3 × 7.0) = 77/100 |
Capital Readiness Matrix
The Capital Readiness Matrix maps IQS and FRS to determine whether a startup is highly investable, structurally weak, promising but underprepared, or fully investment-ready. Within this framework, IQS reflects business quality while FRS measures fundraising preparedness.
