Operating out of Kozhikode (Calicut), Kerala, he oversees traditional Shotokan Karate instruction, athletic development, and international dojo affiliations across South Asia and the Middle East.

Early life and martial arts education

Ramsheed was born on 4 September 1985 in Calicut (Kozhikode), Kerala, India. He began training in martial arts during early childhood, earning his Shodan (first-degree black belt) under the guidance of Dr. Shihan K. M. Basha. He subsequently continued his advanced technical studies under several Indian and international masters.

Career and establishment of TSKF

In 2005, Ramsheed opened his initial dojo under the title International Shotokan Academy. As student enrollment expanded, the academy reorganized as the Tora Shotokan Karate Association before evolving into an international governing and instructional body known as the Tora Shotokan Karate Federation (TSKF).

Global partnerships and recognitions

To expand competitive and instructional opportunities for TSKF students, Ramsheed affiliated the federation with the Funakoshi Shotokan Karate Association (FSKA) World, completing advanced master-level training under Soke Kevin Funakoshi.

Following multi-state expansions in India, the entity formally structured as the International Tora Shotokan Karate Federation. In 2020, TSKF received formal recognition and representation from governing bodies including:

  • World Karate Federation (WKF)
  • Funakoshi Shotokan Karate Association World (FSKA World)
  • World Karate Martial Arts (WKMA)
  • Karate India Organisation (KIO)

Federation philosophy and instruction

TSKF's educational methodology centers on traditional Japanese Shotokan Karate, emphasizing character development, discipline, and moral training (*Karatedo*). The federation structures its technical curriculum around:

  • Traditional Kata (preset movement forms)
  • Advanced Kumite (sparring and competition techniques)
  • Inter-dojo exchanges and international seminars for karatekas across South Asia and Middle East Asia

Awards and honors

  • ISKF Best Karate Technical Award (2000)
  • WSKF Global Award (2015)
  • FSKA Best Master Award (2018)
  • TSKA Global Award (2020)
